This campaign website is managed by the Loughborough Junction community who are concerned at the lack of step free access at LJ Station, that prevents many of our community from accessing the train services on the viaduct platform above.

The current layout and facilities within the station prevents many people from accessing the platform, particularly those people with restricted mobility, (PRM's), parents with young children, prams and heavy shopping, travellers with their luggage, those who wish to travel with pets or bicycles and some older members of the community who find the stairs to the platform too daunting.

Unfortunately, the historic development (or shrinking) of the station in 1925 when it moved from the nearby Rathgar Road site, taken alongside the huge increase in footfall over the last century has combined to make the station inadequate and potentially unsafe by current station design standards and as a community we are coming together to try and pursuade those in power and with the ability to make a difference to work collaboratively together to provide a fitting legacy for the future generations of our rapidly expanding community.

We would invite anyone accessing this website to join us in our efforts, to sign the petition, subscribe to our newsletters, research our findings and explore what we can achieve together.
